Introduction
This course provides training on and resources for personnel who require advanced application of the Incident Command System (ICS). It targets individuals who will serve in supervisory, management, or command positions during expanding, multi-agency incidents.

Review of ICS principles, features, and standard terminology.

The roles and responsibilities of the Command Staff and General Staff.

Understanding span of control management in expanding incidents.

Establishing Command: Transfer of command protocols and briefings.

Transitioning from a single command structure to a Unified Command structure.

Incident Assessment and Establishing Objectives

Initial situational awareness and size-up procedures.

Developing SMART (Specific, Measurable, Action-oriented, Realistic, Time-bound) objectives.

Differentiating between incident objectives, strategies, and tactical assignments.

Implementing safety analysis and risk management policies at the scene.

Documenting early actions using standard ICS forms (ICS 201).

The Incident Planning Process (The Planning P)

Step-by-step breakdown of the operational planning cycle.

Conducting effective tactics meetings and planning meetings.

Developing the formal Incident Action Plan (IAP) components.

Assigning roles within the Planning, Logistics, and Finance sections.

Finalizing, approving, and disseminating the IAP to all agencies.

Resource Management and Demobilization

Ordering, tracking, and staging multi-agency resources.

Differentiating between Task Forces, Strike Teams, and Single Resources.

Managing personnel accountability and safety check-in/check-out.

Developing a structured Demobilization Plan for demobilizing excess resources.

Conducting post-incident closeout, debriefings, and after-action reporting.

Training Methodology

- Preparing records and reports of the participants` attendance and results, with a general evaluation of the training program.

- After finishing the course, the participants get certificates of attendance signed, certified, and issued by pathways Training and consulting.
- Our training programs start at 9:00 o`clock in the morning and end at 2:00 in the afternoon, with snack buffet during the lectures.
